Derek Sallmann is an intriguing singer/ songwriter who comes all the way from Waukesha, Wisconsin. His passion for music ignited at the age of 13, that year saw Derek pick up one of his dad’s guitar. Sallamann’s father is a local musician and taught him how to play. Now that moment saw the birth of Derek Sallmann the musician. He then began writing original songs which then resulted in the unveiling of debut LP All Seasons in 2016. Sallmann then took to the road performing at various festivals all across the USA and these appearances resulted in an ever growing fanbase. His songs actually garnered him accolades/ nominations along the way. These include winning the Shepherd Express “Best of Milwaukee” competition for “Best Acoustic Musician” in 2017 and a Wisconsin Area Music Industry nominee for “Best New Artist” in 2016.

5th October 2018 saw Derek independently drop his latest release Love, Future You. Since hearing the single I can safely say I’m well and truly hooked. This tasty track was co written with LA songwriter Kyler England and what they’ve crafted is a dreamy piece of pop. Drenched in plenty of synth goodness this succulent song plays out as a love letter to the broken hearted future you. Yes the lyrical content may be a tad sad but at the same time these words are saying it’s not the end of the world. If the relationship didn’t work out it wasn’t meant to be.

Everything about this enticing number was spot on, those lyrics left me thoroughly entranced, that mesmeric melody resonated chilled out vibes whilst Derek’s candy coated synth smothered vocals had me envisioning Blink 182. This dazzling cut is taken from the forthcoming Love, Future You EP and I can tell it will be a right cracker.
